Inspiration for movement

Parkour and free running is all about inspiration. You can get your inspiration from anywhere. You can even use some of the basics from any martial arts style to build on your movements.

You also have to be aware of your surroundings. You can climb anything.

Parkour and music

Most videos of parkour I've seen, or been a part of use various types of music. it can be electronic, trance, bass, dubstep, or ambient.

I like to listen to Daft punk, The Crystal Method, Deadmau5, Kaskade, or Skrillex when I do parkour.

Everyone has different music tastes. I'd say experiment and find music that you like to workout to.

Speaking of workouts, there are a lot of workouts involved with parkour training

1. Plyometric push ups

2. Squats

3. Running

4. Quad Movements

5. Handstand push ups

6. Pull ups

7. Muscle ups

8. jump exercises

9. Calf raises

10. duck walks

11. Burpees

12. L sits

13. wall runs

Free running. It's not really different from parkour, since it has he same elements involving physical conditioning and strength training.

The argument that parkour and free running are two different styles is pointless. It should be put to rest.
We should learn to get along and have fun.

Competitions shouldn't be held for Parkour or free running.

Monkey Style Parkour

Monkeys were the first ones to do parkour. They swing from tree to tree and vines with ease. they are have the strength of 10 humans. They also climb trees and jump with ease. As humans we try to emulate their unique style of movement.

here's a video of monkeys doing parkour

This is where we got our concept of parkour.
